Oakland International Airport - OAK

There are a number of transportation options to get you to and from Oakland International Airport. Car rentals, shuttles, limos, taxis, and public transportation provide travelers with a number of option regardless of budget. OAK is about 10 miles from downtown Oakland; most trips take about 15-20 minutes. Downtown San Francisco is about 22 miles from OAK; travel times are about 35-40 minutes, depending on traffic.

Free shuttle service operates all day (running every 10 minutes), although between 1:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., shuttle service is "on-demand," so you'll have to contact your rental car company to get a ride. Public/Ground Transfer

Oakland and San Francisco are served by the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system www.bart.gov; 510-465-BART). BART trains run daily until midnight. Holiday schedules vary. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the Coliseum/Oakland Airport station.

AirBART shuttle service also runs daily until midnight, operating between the Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station and the airport itself about every 10 minutes with shuttle stops at both terminals. Fares are $3; discounted fares of $1 are available for seniors, disabled passengers, and children.
