Reccommended CQ 02/07 In the XIX century the building was a textile workshop and it later became an inn for the turkish tradesman arriving in Venice for commercial deals with the Republic of Venice "the Serenissima". In 1887 the seat of the local newspaper "Il Gazzettino" was established in the building next door; that's how the name was founded. The hotel is located in Venice's downtown, between S.Marco Square and Rialto Bridge. It is a short walk away from the "Mercerie", the street with the most exclusive shops.
