Victory hotel is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and is part of the small chain Three Hotels in Stockholm's Old Town, owned and operated by the Bengtsson Family since 1974. The Victory Hotel opened as number three of the family's three hotels and it was named after their first hotel - Lord Nelson's - famous flagship HMS Victory. The founders' love for maritime antiques and Swedish folklore art is evident for all visitors as large portions of the family's private antique collection can be found throughout the hotel. One such item is the original letter written by the Lord Nelson to his mistress Lady Hamilton in 1801 that is now on display in the lobby. The rooms are all named after a Swedish sea captain. In each room guests will find photos and memorabilia of the captain the room is named after as well a model of the ship he sailed. The rooms are furnished in a comfortable and home-like fashion and tastefully decorated with the owner's collections of antiques. Housed in a building from 1642, history is ever present at the Victory Hotel. This is not only the find site of the largest silver treasure - the Lohe Treasure - that has ever been discovered in Sweden, but it the restaurant can the remains of Stockholm's old medieval defence wall - Leijontornet - be seen.
